Area of Municipal By-law Enforcement
The territories covered by the officers of the SPCA de l'Outaouais are: Gatineau, the MRC des Collines de l'Outaouais and the MRC du Pontiac and other municipalities.
Examples of complaints and services for which officers are required to intervene include:
- Barking complaints
- Biting incidents
- Pick up of stray pets requiring emergency care
Roles of our MAPAQ-mandated inspectors 
The Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation (MAPAQ) collects, processes and delegates reports of animal negligence and cruelty to its agents, including the Outaouais SPCA. Our officers are required to cover the entire territory of the Outaouais.
Our team of inspectors and animal control officers from the SPCA de l'Outaouais are then responsible for conducting inspections and enforcing:
— Provincial animal protection legislation, namely the the Animal Welfare and Safety Act and the Cat and Dog Safety and Welfare Regulations.

The SPCA de l'Outaouais recognizes the importance of impartiality and the absence of conflict of interest in any actions or interventions carried out in the course of its enforcement activities. Our organizational structure, our management style, and the relationship between our investigation office and our other services allow us to maintain the impartiality necessary for our enforcement activities.
