The loss of a pet can be a difficult experience for you and your family. Losing a pet is, for many people, as devastating as losing a very close friend or a family member. 

Some pet guardians believe that cremation simplifies the burial of their pet, and some appreciate the environmental responsibility of cremation.

The SPCA de l'Outaouais offers this service through Gateway Pet Memorial.

There are several options for memorializing your pet.

1. Communal cremation
   When you choose this option, we will take care of the cremation of your pet. If you choose this option, you will not receive ashes after the procedure.
   
   The fee for the communal cremation is based on the weight of your pet.
   
   • Small animals: $15
   • Cats: $43
   • Dogs
     • 0-25 lbs: $48
     • 26-50 lbs: $55
     • 51-70 lbs: $72
     • 71-90 lbs: $89
     • 91-110 lbs: $104
     • 111-150 lbs: $120
       
       
2. Individual cremation
   When you choose the individual cremation option, you will receive the ashes in the urn of your choice, along with a certificate, for a total amount of $280 (plus tax), regardless of the weight of your pet. You will also have access to personalization options (additional fees).
