Walk-in adoptions are back at the shelter!

Published on January 18th 2024

As of Monday, January 22, 2024, it will no longer be necessary to make an appointment to come and adopt a cat, dog or small animal at the SPCA de l'Outaouais. This new procedure will facilitate the adoption process and help us quickly find a family for every furry friend at the shelter!

You can continue to check out the profiles of our boarders available for adoption on our website. Please note that an appointment will still be required for animals in foster families! The form to fill out will be available on our website.

Please note that we will not be making "reservations" for animals at the shelter. First come, first served!

To adopt, simply come to the shelter during our opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you'd like to adopt one of our canine boarders, please make sure the whole family is present, including your own dogs if you have any!

If one of our adoption consultants is available, you'll be able to meet the boarder you're interested in right away. If all our consultants are busy, we'll be able to arrange a meeting as soon as possible.

To maximize your chances of meeting one of our boarders, please arrive at the shelter by 3 p.m. at the latest.

Thank you for your support and interest in animal welfare in the Outaouais!
